Level Sensors for Brewery Production Plant
The production of beer operates in a strict and hygienic environment. Sapcon level sensors are designed and developed in close association with industry requirements and standards for such applications.
The production of beer starts with malting the barley grains. For this, the grains are germinated by drenching them in water to encourage sprouting. Further germination is then halted at a particular stage by drying them out. The wet barley is sticky and can form a coating on the level measuring probe. SLA Series is a justified solution which comes with coating immunity. Another maintenance-free solution that would suit well is SLM.
Hot Water Tank
During malting process, barley is immersed in hot water which is stored in tanks. Level measurement in these hot water tanks can be done without calibration of the instrument by using Elixir. As the temperature inside these tanks is very high, the level sensors being used for this application need to have good temperature endurance. For this, SLC Series is an ideal solution.
The malted barley grains contain activated malt enzymes which convert starch into fermentable sugar. This process is known as mashing and the material made during this process is stored in a vessel called llmash tun. For vibrating fork type level sensor use Elixir-T-Uni which has smoother fork and Elixir which ensures longer running life.
After wort is cooled, yeast is added to it and now the material is ready to ferment. During fermentation, the material becomes viscous and Sticky. Coat-Endure is immune to coating which proves to be best solution in this type of application.
Bright Beer Tank
The clarifying agent is added to beer which precipitate out of the beer along with protein solids in the finished product and this process makes the beer bright and clean. For small tanks Elixir is compatible and get easily installed.
